If you’re a comic book fan, or if you’re old enough to remember the 1963 cartoon Astro Boy, then you may just be thrilled that a remake is coming to the big screen on October 23. The star-studded cast of voices includes Nicholas Cage, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlize Theron, Donald Sutherland, Kristen Bell and Bill Nighy.
Before it came to American audiences, Astro Boy was originally popular in Asia, written and produced by Japanese comic icon Osamu Tezuka. It will be interesting to see if this film translates into big sales overseas. It is rumored that Scarlett Johansson was the original voice of the character Cora, but was replaced by Kristen Bell (who is the voice of Gossip Girl).
