In this December’s aptly titled film Brothers, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire are siblings torn apart by war, and subsequently, love. When young Sam Cahill (Maguire) is shipped off to fight for his country, his brother Tommy (Gyllenhaal) is left to care for Sam’s wife Grace (Natalie Portman) and their children.
When they get the word that Sam has died in combat, Tommy and Grace settle in to a newfound love… but it just couldn’t be that easy, could it? Sam eventually wakes up from his coma, and comes home to a life very different than the one he left. Of course he’s not going to be very happy when he figures out his wife and brother are getting it on…
Brothers looks like it could have been inspired by an episode of Jerry Springer, although it’s based on the 2004 Danish film Brodre by Susan Bier (director of the Halle Berry/Benicio Del Toro film Things We Lost in the Fire). This one looks like it’ll be a tearjerker, and a little creepy too.

This movie looks really good…can’t wait to see it. I wonder if they’re going to leave out the war or political element? Either way looks like a really good film.
