Kanye Apologizes on Jay Leno Show; Performs with Jay-Z and Rihanna

Tonight Kanye West sat down with Jay Leno on the debut of NBC’s Jay Leno Show to issue a formal apology to Taylor Swift and music fans he offended by his actions on the 2009 MTV Music Awards. He admits it was rude, and says he’d like the opportunity to apologize to her in person.

In a touching moment, Leno asked West how his dearly departed mother Donda West would have felt about the rapper’s decision to interrupt Swift‘s acceptance speech. “… I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt.”

Kanye then put on his jacket and hit the stage with Jay-Z and Rihanna for a performance of their hit “Run This Town.”
