Who doesn’t love a good fight flick? This November, theaters will be graced with the Warner Bros. film Ninja Assassin, starring multi-award-winning South Korean entertainer Rain. The story follows Raizo, a boy who is kidnapped and trained to be a killer. The trailer gives the cruxt of the plot, but it will most likely be the fight choreography in Ninja Assassin that is most amazing.
Ninja Assassin also stars Naomie Harris (Street Kings, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest & At World’s End), Ben Miles (V for Vendetta) and Georgia-born actor Sung Kang (Fast & Furious). Director James McTeigue is the man behind V for Vendetta and the upcoming X-Men Origins: Magneto (can’t wait for that one!), and also worked on the sets for all of the Matrix movies, Star Wars II Attack of the Clones and Speed Racer.
Rain, who also appeared in 2008′s Speed Racer, has been slowly making his way into American entertainment. Â The young star’s own life rivals any movie plot, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a movie about him one day. A former boy band member, Rain was abused at the hands of the Korean entertainment industry, both physically and verbally. He was even told he was too ugly to be a movie star in Korea.
His family struggled through various tragedies while Rain worked on his music, and in 2006 he actually sold out concerts at Madison Square Garden, where Diddy and Omarion joined him onstage to support his movement. Rain was voted one of Time Magazine‘s ‘Top 100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World’ in 2006, People Magazine‘s ‘First Time Beauties 2007′ for their Most Beautiful People issue, and he is still notorious for his crazy work ethic as an actor, singer and dancer.
Back to the movie though… Here is the full description of Ninja Assassin:
Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever.
Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
