VIDEO: Obama Calls Kanye a “Jackass” – Journalism Gone Wrong??

As he was preparing for an interview with CNBC correspondent John Harwood, President Obama was asked “off the record” what he thought about Kanye West‘s outburst at the VMA’s, to which the President replied playfully “He’s a jackass.” He then pointed to the crew, motioned a “cut off” signal and started to say “I’m assuming all this stuff…” – most likely to be finished with “is not being recorded.”

Apparently ABC co-anchor Terry Moran thought that was just too cute, since he was in the room and all and overheard it, and twittered it out to his over 1 million followers. Smooth move ex-lax.

It seems as though there are no ethics in journalism anymore, especially when something said off-record to a major network by our nation’s President is so carelessly leaked. Zero respect. We didn’t see these well-educated idiots giggling and guffawing at President Bush to his face, nor were they leaking his most likely silly off-record comments.

What do you think about this breach of trust in the “off the record” comment? And now that small-minded people are finding fault with President Obama, do you think Kanye will step up and defend his honor?
