Matt Damon will further showcase his ability to play complex roles this September with The Informant. The film is based on the true story of Mark Whitacre, a bi-polar executive who snitches to the FBI about his company’s price-fixing tactics. Judging from the trailer, director Steven Soderbergh (Syriana, Michael Clayton) and the production team seem to have added some light-hearted comedic value to what could otherwise be a heavy storyline.
Co-stars in The Informant include a variety of character actors, including voiceover specialist Frank Welker (who happens to be the voice of Megatron, Soundwave and Devastator in the Transformers films and the current Scooby Doo), Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men TV series, Coyote Ugly), Scott Bakula (Enterprise TV series) and Joel McHale (host of E!’s The Soup).
It seems like the FBI has it all figured out with their ace witness to the price-fixing scam, until they realize that he’s battling a serious mental disorder. How Damon pulls off  this unstable Ivy-Leaguer will probably be the gage on how well this film does in theaters. But do you doubt him?
definetly gonna bootleg this one
