What would it be like if you could only tell the truth? In The Invention of Lying, The Office co-creator Ricky Gervais plays a not-so-sexy guy who lives in a world where people automatically say whatever they are thinking, even if it hurts. Along the way, the frustrated loser figures out that he can actually say something that is not true, and changes his life dramatically.
As an accomplished writer, director, actor and comedian, Gervais needs a strong cast around him, and he’s definitely got that with the likes of Jennifer Garner, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill, Rob Lowe and Jason Bateman. Other co-stars include SNL writer Louis C.K. and veteran character actors Jeffrey Tambor (The Hangover, Hellboy) and Fionnula Flanagan (Lost, Brotherhood). Meanwhile, classic actor Patrick Stewart acts as the story’s narrator.
The Invention of Lying should take us a on an even crazier journey than Jim Carrey’s 1997 film Liar Liar, so keep a lookout for this to hit theaters on September 25!
