Cold, dark, silent… what exactly is waiting for you after the apocalypse? In The Road, Viggo Mortensen plays a man who embarks on a journey with his family (Charlize Theron and newcomer Kodi Smit-McPhee) to find signs of light, warmth and life after a devestating series of natural disasters. On their trek, they discover that people are turning to cannibalism to survive… and now they are being hunted.
Robert Duvall, Michael K. Williams (The Wire) and Garret Dillahunt (No Country for Old Men) are a part of the cast, none of whom have character names. But will names really matter when the end is upon us?
The Road is in theaters October 16 via Dimension Films/2929 Productions, and is based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy, author of No Country for Old Men.
