New York, NY — In the past decade, DJ Whoo Kid has created a name for himself as one of the most respected mixtape DJ’s in history. In keeping with his notoriety for unleashing powerful celebrity classics, Whoo Kid has teamed with rock percussion phenom Travis Barker for Let the Drummer Get Wicked, which will debut February 21, 2011 exclusively on RadioPlanet.tv.

The fully collaborative Let the Drummer Get Wicked mixtape features over 17 tracks, four produced by Travis Barker himself, along with The Haitian Super Heros, Havoc, Pharrell and Dr. Dre, to name a few. Travis Barker and Whoo Kid re-energize new-era classics made famous by the likes of J.Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Pusha T, Lupe Fiasco, Big Sean, Tech N9ne and more with their own flare on the remixes.

Over the Grammy 2011 weekend in L.A., Whoo Kid, KRSP and visionary DanTheMan produced and directed a crazy videogame/tech collaborative video for The Clipse “Come N Get It” produced by Pharrell and Travis Barker, shot using an Xbox Kinect! The video will debut on February along with the Let the Drummer Get Wicked mixtape.

When DJ Whoo Kid launched RadioPlanet.tv in March 2009, he envisioned a place where A-List Hollywood celebrities and Hip Hop superstars could comingle their talents with edgy humor and musical tenacity. As Whoo Kid heard more of the Blink 182 rocker’s percussion-heavy remixes over tracks like Snoop Dogg’s “I Wanna Rock” and Drake’s “Forever” remix, the forward-thinking DJ came up with the notion to collab with Barker on Let the Drummer Get Wicked.

Barker and Whoo Kid kicked things off in late 2010 with a taste of Kanye West’s artist Big Sean on “Big Nut Bust,” which debuted on Whoo Kid’s Sirius/XM Shade 45 show. The song spread like wildfire through the most popular urban and pop blogs around, and led to the Tech N9ne banger “Hard Liquor” over a Dr. Dre track. Eventually Travis Barker’s fans pushed him via twitter to call Whoo Kid to leak “Hard Liquor” immediately, which fueled the fire for Tech N9ne’s Bad Season mixtape.

“I wanted to keep the records on Let the Drummer Get Wicked original,” Whoo Kid says of the concept. “I reached out to the artists to get all new joints from them, and worked with Travis from there to do an exclusive mixtape for the artists’ respective fan bases.”

On February 16, Whoo Kid will unveil a behind-the-scenes peek at the work Travis and he did in the studio and at the video location with KRSP, DanTheMan and their unique Xbox Kinect shoot. On February 19, the ‘Travis Barker Mixtape Special‘ will air on Sirius/XM Shade 45 from 12:00 pm to 5:00pm EST, and fans will be treated to some brand new tracks from Let the Drummer Get Wicked, and hear Barker’s personal take on the project.
