Ahhh! Will there ever be enough Halloween movies? I think not! There appear to be some real scares with Trick ‘r Treat, which was written and directed by Michael Dougherty, writer of X-Men 2, Superman Returns and Urban Legend: Bloody Mary.
Starring Anna Paquin (True Blood, X-Men movies), Leslie Bibb (Iron Man, Talladega Nights), Brian Cox (X-Men 2, The Ring, The Bourne Identity) and Dylan Baker (Spiderman movies), the movie unveils four ghoulish stories that all intertwine on the same block. The lead character Sam is played by young Quinn Lord, who is no stranger to horror films with past roles in White Noise 2 and the TV series Masters of Horror.
Trick ‘r Treat is already being called a “cult classic” by some critics, but it didn’t merit a theatrical release for some reason. You’ll be able to find it on DVD on October 6!
Warner Bros. has a long, well written synopsis, but a guy calling himself “HarryPotterFan639″ summed it up nicely in just a few sentences here:
–Five interwoven stories that occur on the same block, on the same night. A couple finds what happens when they blow a jack o’ lantern out before midnight, a high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer, a college virgin might have met the right guy for her, a group of mean teens play a prank that they take too far, and a hermit is visited by a special trick or treater.
One critic’s quote in the trailer even says it unfolds like Pulp Fiction… wow! I’m getting this one if you are! Hold me!
