Living room rock gods recently convened  for the New York Regionals of the 2009 US Air Guitar Championships! With competitors like Shreddy Mercury, Guitarzan, Sanjar the Destroyer and Ricky Stinkyfingers, how could you go wrong for a fantastic Saturday night?

The Championship consists of a 25-city run, as contestants who “demonstrate evidence of significant airness” bring the noise. Kind of.

Spirits were high in NYC as each performer gave their all in hopes of taking the US Championship title in Washington, DC on August 7, then on to Finland for the 2009 World Air Guitar Championships.  Watch the video above and rock on!!!
