Ohhhhh snap!! Gordon Gekko is BACK and “greed is good”!! Director Oliver Stone had the right idea in bringing back this iconic movie villain in 2010!
In this teaser trailer for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (aka Wall Street 2), we see Gekko (played masterfully by Michael Douglas, who won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in the original) getting out of his prison after what was probably a solid 20 years. Not only is his cell phone a little outdated (ha!)… he’s also one-upped at the gate when a rapper is picked up by a limo in front of him. Big changes since the ’80s honey!
If you’ve never seen Wall Street, please do so now, because Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps looks to be even more sinister than the 1987 classic! Alongside Michael Douglas, we will see Charlie Sheen back as former protege’-turned-snitch Bud Fox; Shia LaBeouf as Jacob Moore, a hungry young trader trying to get revenge for the murder of his mentor; and Carey Mulligan (Public Enemies, Brothers) as Winnie Gekko, Gordon’s now-grown daughter and Jacob’s fiance’.
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps will be in theaters in April, and also stars Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Furlito (CSI: NY, Grindhouse) and veteran actor Frank Langella (Superman Returns, Frost/Nixon, The Box).
