In the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Whiteout, a troop of U.S. Marshals, led by Kate Beckinsale‘s character Carrie Stetko, are in Antarctica tracking a killer. The sun is about to disappear for six months, and there’s a sense of urgency to solve the murders. But then more killings are discovered… so what’s a girl to do?
Alongside Beckinsale (probably best known for her roles in the Underworld trilogy) are TV crossover actor Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight, The Shield, August Rush), Gabriel Macht (The Spirit), Columbus Short (Stomp the Yard, Cadillac Records) and veteran actor Tom Skerritt (Alien, Top Gun, Fallen). Incidentally, we’ll also get to see Columbus Short again this December in Armored [click here to watch the trailer].
I don’t know who in their right mind would choose to live in some tents in the Antarctic with darkness, frostbite and an obvious lack of human existence, but apparently this killer is worth the trouble. Â Whiteout is in theaters on September 11, and is directed by Dominic Sena (Swordfish, Gone in Sixty Seconds). who also directed Janet Jackson‘s “Rhythm Nation 1814″ video in 1989, and all of Janet’s video compilation projects.
