Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Biel, Santigold & Emile Hirsch Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for Water!

This is the trailer for the upcoming MTV documentary, Summit on the Summit, which airs on March 14. A few good-hearted people took it upon themselves to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa “to raise awareness for the global water crisis.”

Among those who made the trek in January 2010 were rapper Lupe Fiasco, actress Jennifer Biel, singers Santigold and Kenna, actor Emile Hirsch, Alexandra Cousteau (granddaughter of explorer Jacques Cousteau), Kick Kennedy (granddaughter of Senator Robert F. Kennedy), actress Isabel Lucas (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Daybreakers) and photographer Michael Muller (Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair).

They were accompanied by professional mountain climber/explorers Jimmy Chin and Melissa Arnot, along with several young corporate activists.

I’d think one would have to be batshit crazy to do something like this, but passion for a good cause outweighed the doubt for these folks. They DID make it 19,340 feet to the top, but the journey was not without a lot of pain and stress.

You can find out more about the cause and the climb on their site at SummitontheSummit.com
